David Bajo is the author of four novels: The 351 Books of Irma Arcuri (2008, Viking/Penguin), Panopticon (2010, Unbridled Books), Mercy 6 (2014, Unbridled Books), and The Ensenada Public Library (2018, Brighthorse Books). He is a professor of creative writing at The University of South Carolina where he directs the MFA program.

The tenth of fifteen children, David was raised on a ranch in San Diego, CA. His father was a professional baseball player and physician in the border town of San Ysidro, his mother a nurse. David has worked as a writer his entire adult life, adding income as a journalist, translator, and professor. He received his fiction MFA from UC-Irvine and has taught creative writing and literature there, at Boise State, and at the University of South Carolina. His fiction has been translated into ten languages.
